Two female photographers from Porto, Portugal needed an image that would make them stand out in a male dominated market place. They felt that they were many times put aside just because they are women and they wanted an identity that transmitted the idea that women are just as capable as men.
The image of the stereotypical 1950s housewife was ironically used to create the image of their photographic studio. The woman has literally come out of the kitchen and demonstrates just how competent she is and how professionally she is able to integrate herself in the photographic world, plus she is still able to make and offer her clients apple pies with a smile!
